Glancing at the till receipt the other day I noticed they're more that £5 for a 400gm bag. Why so expensive?

Tesco's seem to be cheaper http://www.tesco.com/groceries/product/details/?id=256506618 and they're vegetarian.

maybe imported, check country of production, doubt it will be Britain ?
It's Marks and Spencer...people expect to pay more there, surely?
I trust they are unsulphured and organic sandy?
'Healthy Supplies' want £11.99 for a kilo so I guess it's the cost of carefully drying them

but helped along with a dose of sulphur dioxide
and possible traces of nuts from someone opening a packet of honey-roasted KP upstairs
ok as long as the packet of kp carried the warning that it might contain nuts
I usually look at the price of stuff when deciding whether or not to buy. Would not want to pay so much for dried apricots. Then again I dont often venture into an M&S food area.
Because they're not just any old apricots, they're M&S apricots! Much cheaper in The Grape Tree if you have a branch near you.
A friend of mine invited me round to hers for some pasta one night, and she said its not just any old pasta - It's M&S pasta. Made me laugh.
I get mine from Holland & Barrett

Taken verbatim of the advert then, grasscarp!
I get mine from ASDA 500gm for £2.97 and they are really good. The old man has a handful (of Apricots) before his breakfast most days
Because people buy them at that price ?
What the market can bear ?

It'll be Tesco from now on. That £1.50 is better in my pocket than swelling the profits of M&S
If you can get to Costco, or know someone who goes, they sell a 1.36kg bag for £7.99. As well as being really good value for money, the apricots are really delicious.
& 2.59 for 500gms ftom Aldi.

I don't think there are Coscos or Aldi in Belfast.
M&S blueberries are £3.15 for 150g!

At that price they'd be hand picked and gently polished with a soft duster before being cradled in their container.
