Is anyone having a go at going meat and dairy free just for January? If so, how is it going?
Also, would anyone try this if it was available in the UK?

Thank you for your views. One of the reasons I tried to follow a meat and dairy free diet is that I've often expressed my thoughts (at work) about the treatment of animals bred for food such as halal and kosher, only to then be told that as I eat meat, I have no right to take the moral high ground.
I did start off as a strict vegan in April 2018 till around April/May last year but I have slipped back into occasionally eating dairy products.

not all vegans are vegans because they don't want to eat animals and animal produce from a moralistic viewpoint.
Also, I don't get APC's post:
//Meat eaters DELIBERATELY eat KILLED cow.//
no they don't, people don't eat cows except perhaps unwittingly in meat pies....
definition of Cow "a fully grown female animal of a domesticated breed of ox, kept to produce milk or beef."
people DO eat cows don't they?

No bednobs people rarely eat 'cow' just like they rarely eat 'mutton'. Also chickens don't lay eggs -hens lay eggs. Just a bug bear of mine I'm afraid. Cattle bred for beef are usually termed a 'Beast' or a Beef Stirk or Beef Heifer. If you ask a farmer is he has any cows he will show you his breeding herd, not those Beef animals being finished for slaughter.
Bedknobs // but in your own description you say a cow is "kept to produce milk or beef"//
a Cow produces beef by giving birth to a beef animal. If its a dairy cow they often cross them with beef breed so they can use the calves for beef , if its a beef breed cow they will leave the calf on the cow for 6 -9 months then take it off to grow it on, either on grass or grain, then slaughter around 24 months old. when the beef cow can no longer produce a calf it will go for slaughter , usually for meat pies or animal feed.
