Single Malts

Is aged whiskey's significantly improved by great age ?
For example, I ordered a 12 year single malt from a supermarket, which was substituted with a 5 year, aged one, of a different distillery.
Should I feel cheated ?

Another diversion...I think they liked the hotel.
They couldn't take their car as there was no room on the ferry, so touring was limited. They stayed on a houseboat at Oban before going over to the island.

Yes there is real issues with the ferries even the islanders cannot always get bookings!

Not all malts are equal and should not be just be taken on their age range.

So would I, so far for christmas I have an Ardbeg uigeadail 54.2% a Laphroiag QC 48% a bottle of Elements of Islay, blended Islay Malt 54.5% and a bottle of Port Charlotte heavily peated 50%.

With Douglas @11.33. Smoked salmon and kippers I can do but not whisky. ( I have tried and tried) I purchased my Christmas Macallan last week. Have you seen the fr*$@££*
