does anyone know where I can buy maple sugar, cream and butter from a uk mail order company? I know I can get it straight from Canada and the US but the p and p and customs make this very expensive.

Good morning
We had a nice meal. It was a steak restaurant but my few teeth cannot cope with steak so I had boring chicken. It was very pretty under the stars in their garden and full of mossies. We were only out for 2 hrs. That's another birthday over and done with for another year!!!
Hello I'm a lonely little petunia in an onion patch!!
Great news my 25 yr old nephew has presented his thesis on physics and has left Brunel uni. If all ok and it should be in the Spring he will have a phd and able to add Doctor to his name. Google have already headhunted him but hes having a gap year and travelling to Japan and oz before he decides what to do!
lucky man to be able to think about what job to accept. Has he been reading Google Physics?

No steak for me till I get some new teeth at the end of the month. Got some nice hot Charlie Bigham lasagne for tonight, that shouldn't be too crunchy.

Our barometer is very nearly pointing to Change. I suppose if the monsoon lands it will even go a millimetre past Change towards Rain, but it does like to take a conservative view of things. I've been to Tesco and they were out of just about everything I wanted, and the carpark was only half full and the roads half empty, so I suppose everyone has been out panic buying and are waiting for the rains to arrive, with a rowing boat by the back door just in case.

hello....all your posts appeared in a lump today I have no idea what is happening. Fed up with this weather and looking for a boatbuilder.
It's horrible weather.Just been hammering it down here and thundering but looks as if its cleared away out over the sea now.Tomorrow looks dry so hold the boat builder Woofy.
Well done to your nephew Neti.
Jno ,I did a Tesco order today and the Baileys litre bottle is on offer for £12.Stock up for Christmas .
I still have at least half a dozen left from last year, shaney, they're cluttering the place up a bit.

On the other hand, spend £60 in the next 10 days and you get £9 off. And 10p off petrol. A few more Baileys would do no harm...
lordy, there are 12 of the blighters... I'm going to have to drink a lot faster
Haha, You'll have to swig it out of the bottle,I still have some left from last year but due to this rain and such dull days I've gone into winter mode and started to have a coffee in the afternoon with a shot of Baileys, then I wonder why I keep dozing off. It's another dull day but at least it's not raining as yet.
Sunny but chilly here..we had a small storm yesterday and the temp dropped remarkably! Our Overseas supermarket is going to be huge, like a UK one. I wont have enough money. But quality Street for €8 instead of €15! Wow bargain!!
My great Male friend and mentor when I first came here died last night. He had bladder cancer so not unexpected. His son who lives in Haiti flew in but was delayed hours because of the stupid demonstrators in Barcelona but got there 4 hrs before his dad died. We are like family as he would vet my boyfriends and parties when I first cake here as I was an innocent abroad and Paolo knew where the druggies etc. would be! Oh dear!!

so sorry Neti, its awful when we start to lose our friends. Its gone staright from damp and muggy here to dru and cold in the space of an hour. I have got a stash of pumpkin spice Baileys and got a cheeky stash of Sainsbury's demi sec champagne earlier this year. I used to like Marks but they changed brand and massively hiked the price.
That's very sad for you Neti.
My fellow bridesmaid,my sis in laws sister was recently diagnosed with lung cancer. She's never smoked and they say it's asbestos related. She must have been exposed to it at some time but she can't think how, when or where. She's having chemo atm.
oh dear, mortality. I'm sorry for those losing friends and relations.

OH is going back to hospital in a couple of days, after weeks of weariness and chest pains and some night cramps as well. It looks as though the problem is severe anaemia - despite monthly blood tests which nobody seems to have bothered looking at - so another transfusion is in the offing, but first there will be a colonoscopy, and possibly something from the other end, to make sure there's no internal bleeding. But at least it doesn't look as though it's a return of the angina from a few years back, and even the cramps might be sorted by some new blood.

I wonder if new blood would make my teeth stick around longer ... a bit's just fallen off the back of one of the temporary crowns I've got. I hope it hangs on another couple of weeks till the real ones arrive.

I hope you and OH get better news Jno. Shaney I am sorry to hear about your friend. Asbestos is nasty, it might have been as random as living or working near a building site.
I have been whizzing in and out between downpours today putting the dog cage, blankies coats wellies and so on back in the car which got serviced and Mot'ed yesterday. The garage are lovely and I get a free car valet and MOT with the service. I knew I needed new wiper blades so I asked them to do it while they had the car in and they did it for nowt just the cost of the blades...I know its a small thing but I do appreciate it
woofgang, it's going to be endoscopy plus colonoscopy. I imagine it like the Channel tunnel with the two crews digging from each end finally meeting in the middle (and showing each other their photos).
Sorry to hear that Jno. I hope they can find the cause and hopefully with the right treatment your OH will soon feel better and that your teeth don't fall out in the meantime.
Yes,I'm very sad for my fellow bridesmaid. We've known each other getting on for 65 years now .She went to the doctors three times complaining about breathlessness before he referred her to the hospital. She can't recall being anywhere near asbestos unless it was in the shirt factory where she worked years ago as a machinist. Both my dad and eldest brother died from asbestos related disease but they knew where they had been in contact with it.
On a brighter note we're getting brand spanking new pavements and kerbs on our side of the road soon. This will be so much nicer than the wobbly patchwork that's out there now.At least we're getting something from the rise in the council tax!
Goodnight all.

Grrr just lost a long post. Nothing much happening here..we've been higher and thither with hija and I am shattered with feet ache! She leaves tomorrow if the riots have calmed down away from the airport!
Jno sorry to hear about OH I will keep fingers crossed and also for your teeth!
OH got all Moviprepped up and is in hospital now, I am waiting for the phone call to drive my taxi to the pickup bay.

mega fingers and paws crossed here. Not sure how you feel about prayers but your OH is on my list.
OH is fine but weary. A few polyps removed but apparently no reason not to have a transfusion, so that's likely to happen later in the week.
Question Author
That sounds like good news.
