Here's my recipie, though I'm afraid I have no quantities.
Melt about a satsuma size of butter in a pan. Add golden syrup, about 1.5 times the amount and heat till it's runny. Take off the heat. Add rolled oats, not too many at a time, till mixture is pretty stiff but not looking too dry. I add some currants too. Sprinkle in some granulated sugar. About 1/3 to 1/2 a cup.
Spread flat onto a baking tray to the desired thickness. I do this on foil and then I can bunch the foil up at one end when I realise the tray is too big. Push down flat with a spoon. I use a metal one which I keep dipping in hot water to prevent sticking.
Cook for about 15 mins on Gas 4. Keep an eye on them though. When they start going brown at the edges they're done. Too long and they get too hard.
Cut whilst still warm.
Enjoy.
