does anyone know how i can make butter popcorn at home like the stuff u used to be able to get at the cinema until they said it was a health and safety risk? i found places to buy it on the net but it costs a bomb to ship it over from america, anywhere in england anyone know about?
I would get normal kernels (that we buy and salt normally), I prefer salty, but once they are all popped in pan, bring to the boil some butter with some sugar and a touch of golden syrup, once the mixture is bubbling, mix well over popcorn by shaking pan with lid on, this should coat it fully - never actually tried this, but think I am going to now - you've planted the seed!!! YUM!!!
Don't want to assume, but just in case you've never done popcorn from scratch, a teaspoon and a half of oil per (small) handful of kernals in a pan with a lid on, put on a high heat lid on pan and leave till popping stops - these qty's make a generous portion for two people to share. Then I load wtih salt - probably "too much" hell who cares?!?!?!?!?!? ENJOY! :0)
Make the popcorn using any of the recipes already posted
then melt a large spoon of butter (and it has to be butter and not spread!!!) add a large spoon of golden syrup - melted then pour over the popcorn and add salt to taste
Yummy just had a huge bowl with my daughter watching St Trinians
