I need a fruit, other than raisins and sultanas (which i've thought of) and definatly not prunes or any other fruit with laxative properties please, that these rules can be applied to;

1) you must be able to eat it all, with no pips, skin or stalk etc left over.

2) available in England in the next few weeks and won't be really expensive.

3) isn't messy and won't go mushy in a rucksack.

4) doesn't come with a tonne of packaging, although i have considered taking those little boxes of pineapple etc, if i can't find anything else, i don't want to be eating sultanas all day, then my other rubbish can be put inside the tub.

Pretty tall order there Molly. Grapes?
why the rules exactly?
An apple. The core is biodegradable so it can safely be thrown away without harm to the environment.
tomatoes
lol sandy, you cannot solve the problem that quickly, molly wants this thread to run and run
strawberries, raspberries, black... well, any berries.
Berries fail Molly's test of not going mushy in her backpack.
dingleberries ^ ?
sandy, you're quite right.

Molly, go and look in the supermarket.
Got it! Pre-shelled wallnuts.
maybe redhelen will come along and offer to carry and peel fruit for Molly.

most berries will go all mushy.

i'm going hiking/camping and have to think of food for about a day, so i'll have my tea a few hours after we start out, breakfast the next morning, lunch and snacks, but i'm not sure if i'll neeed to take 2 evening meals as we haven't properly arranged it yet, as to where and how far we are going and exaclly how long it will take, but roughly a day.
They're as much fruit as tomatoes are, aren't they?
Question Author
why redhelen.

I lied, sorry, i think we have to go about 10 miles, but we don't know exactly where we will start and finish. Anyway i think we should take spare food.
Question Author
tomatoes are fruit, everyone jsut thinks that they are veg as they are quite savoury and you have then with other savoruy stuff, not in puddings.
are you going camping for a day then..?
Ahh, I stand corrected. Thank you, Molly.
Bananas are the best thing to take. Slow energy release. You can bury the skin if your fussy.
why didnt you just google the camping experts..?
