dead head..you might !
We just dead head, and remove all damaged leaves. Having said that their are literally thousand of different types of Begonia. Ours have been magnificent this year all done from corms that we store and bring on again.
I agree, go for it!
Dead-heading (removing old flower heads) can often prolong the flowering period, by preventing the plant from going to seed, for a while and persuading it to produce more flowers.
Togo.you are a star..can't be bothered myself..far too much else to do in the big tidy up
It is not really a chore Minty. We have them in pots and tubs and empty them every year. The corms are just individually wrapped in newspaper when dry and brought out of the shed come march. We also do the same with Dahlia tubers. A damn site less expensive than buying them new every year, plus begonia plugs are a devil to bring on and I take cuttings from the Dahlias so we have more and more every year. I have been out watering for an hour this morning, it looks like a scorcher.
