Acid Soil

Having to use non-acid tap water on my acid-loving pot plant has left the growing medium neutral ph.
Can I correct this by adding lemon juice to the water?

If your soil is alkaline, you can lower your soil's pH or make it more acidic by using several products. These include sphagnum peat, elemental sulfur, aluminum sulphate, iron sulfate, acidifying nitrogen, and organic mulches.
I use aluminium sulphate on the Hydrangeas. It is readily available and not expensive.

No don’t add lemon juice, Does the plant look happy? If you aren’t sure then feed with a sequestered iron fertiliser, loads on amazon and your local garden centre will have them too. If the plant looks really unhappy then repot it in fresh compost and start collecting rain water to feed it.

Coppit just said pot plant Minty, so I thought it may be an outdoor tub or pot. We have a nice Hydrangea in a tub outside that I feed with Aluminium Sulphate. It keeps the flower colours really intense and the foliage a nice chocolate colour.

Epsom salts will do the same thing by the way. Again I use that when I want to green up the foliage on pot plants. Works well when there has been a dry spell.

Collect and harvest rain water, plants will grow much better!
