Back to the plot ............... I can't think of anything but those rubber attachments that used to be around. You'd still need a big hoseclip (sometimes called a Jubilee clip) to keep it on. A bit crude though :o(

LOL sometimes Builder! especially when the dog lets one off!

I have one of those hose clip things, now all I need is the rubber tingy to attach.I need to check the local DIY shop for that.

Can I advise (having learned from experience) that after fitting the adaptor you turn the tap on very gently and when in use drape a cloth loosely over the thing to avoid any spray that can happen if it's disturbed even slightly.
Saves a lot of mopping up later. :(
