yeah like the milkman 'hey man I said semi not skimmed' blah blah blah
Cor cazz, I thought for a moment that it was the street I used to live in in Birmingham, when he said ***** drive - but if it's Black Country then I'm off the hook!

redhelen there is a very good reason for having the camera if you ever had any dealings with these low lifes you would understand, as for not answering his questions he did the right thing
I assume if he has a tv, he'll be prosecuted for not having a licence.

I don't know why he seems to think he's above the law. I assume he doesn't pay his council tax, either!
I worried having a bloke like that as a neighbour :o
I would be worried (I mean)

Why not just show the licence then he would not get visits.

If he does not have one then he is only delaying the inevitable...a fine.

Of the videos I've seen on this subject (which I admit are few) only one has the tvl employee getting aggressive (he was talking to somebody at their door and being videoed by the neighbour) the others have all been people supposedly who do not watch live tv being as difficult and obstructive as they possibly could be.

This one above as an example..immediately videoing the poor bloke who at the end of the day is just trying to do his job. Why lock the house? Why make him get off the driveway? Why try to video his number plate whilst stepping in front of the vehicle as the bloke is leaving and then hanging around for him to drive back the way he came to get it again.
As everybody who has a TV licence is on a database, the only people receiving a doorstep visit would be those who had not purchased a licence.

The only genuine reason for not having a TV licence is, anyone not having a TV receiver in their property.

wiltsman i had a valid licence when they started to give me trouble and i know of one other person who gets a nasty letter once a month and has a valid licence.

remember that bit valid licence what personal experince do you have
redhelen """"" had a TV well Tufftitties, he is breaking the law - seeemples """"

sara3 """" I assume if he has a tv, he'll be prosecuted for not having a licence. """""

he is not breaking any law by having a tv and not having a licence ( if he has tv)
you only need a licence if you use your tv to receive live transmission signals

thought you worked in the courts sara you should know better, no wonder innocent people get found guilty
there are folk who do not have tvs - one of them is even an Aber. Can't remember whom but this subject came up the other night. I have friends down the road and they enjoy their radio and havent had a tv all the time I have known them which is over 30 years.

If he doesn't have one then he's in the clear. Though I do think he is a bit of a plonker for his behaviour and all credit to the tv man for keeping his cool, except for the speed of his driving in a local neighbourhood - what would have happend if a kid had followed a ball out into the road?. Bring on 20 mph soonest.
as for cameras i never answer my front door without one, since i filmed the last low life
tvl man i have had no problem with them

the two gays that live next to me have two video cameras up at the front of their property. i unable to get into my house without being on there two cameras and one camera from across the road on another property

that is 3 cameras that film me every time i leave my property
DTcrosswordfan when they see a camera they are nice and polite with you. when you don't have a camera you get a long list of threats

wonder why :)
