Err indoors got a load of trap from 3 teenage *** riding on the pavement whilst she was walking the dogs. "Get out of the effing way etc" - wish I was there I'd kicked the rissoles clean off their bikes. Makes my blood boil.

Sorry Khandro at 11:01 that is a silly post - they shouldn't even be on the pavement in the first place ! I've just got back in for a dog walk and twice we had to avoid lycra clad and helmeted morons speeding along the pavement as if they had the divine right ! I was absolutely chuffed to bits when an irate Dad with his little boy in tow told them off as they sped past !...

Moral: all cyclists are are also pedestrians, but not all pedestrians are also cyclists.
Khandro, I don't care how many thousands of miles you've ridden. It doesn't alter the fact that I Live in an area where three towns create a triangle of roads that are extremely popular with numerous cycling clubs who ride this triangle, about 45 miles in length, most weekends.
The groups are larger than 20 and they ride three and sometimes four abreast. Perhaps your groups are ladies and gentlemen of the road, these are definitely not.
Vulcan: They are definitely at fault & you are correct; the current rule of the Highway Code reads: “You should… never ride more than two abreast, and ride in single file on narrow or busy roads and when riding round bends”.

If they belong to a proper cycling club they may wear identifiable jerseys, if you can find out who they are you should make a complaint to the police, who could caution them.

And in relation to the OP it further states regarding designated paths;

"These paths can be used by pedestrians, cyclists, joggers and dog walkers. Nobody has the right of way, so all users are equally responsible for their actions. As a cyclist it's important that you keep your speed down and watch out for others."

Which seems to be sensible advice.

I know Khandro
My post was tongue in cheek
TTT's Britneys must have been burning.
Good grief, I only stepped off the pavement onto the road for a minute! :o)
^Wrong thread?
The main reason that cyclists ride on pavements is that the roads are not safe for cyclists - they're far less safe than they used to be. If cyclists were forced to ride on the roads then councils would be forced to make them safer, i.e. wider, better lit, no potholes, less vehicles, improved law enforcement, etc etc. All of which costs money that nobody wants to pay. So we all put up with cyclists riding on pavements instead.
I wonder does ttt know he's off the naughty step.
Hope he isn't sulking.
Leaves him with a dilemma
