Change of career

10 years in the Police Force as a front line officer. Not the job it was, very political and no fun nowadays. Anybody know of jobs that would suit somebody in my situation. (Male 32yo) and I don't want to be a security guard!!!

Have you thought of Mental Health Nursing? it's also a career that has changed, but for the better, lot's of different aspects from child to elderly community work or inpatient. if you wanted to qualify(which you would need to for career & better wage it's 3 years, by 35 you would still have 30 years to give) If you like the people aspect of your job, you will enjoy this rewarding career.

Do you not fancy teaching secondary school? Your front line experience might come in useful!  The only officer I knew left the Police Force to train to be a counselor.

A move into organised crime is always an option. Most firms would sell their mothers for inside knowledge of how the "Other People".

The upside is a potentially whacking great payday.

The downside is being dragged out of the Thames should things go "a little bit slightly turbo".

Paramedic.  Ambulance driver.  Check your Local Health Board.  You don't mention which part of the country you live in - but there are several vacancies in my local area.  Not the money you're on at the moment though!
