Hey guys, need ur help. I would love to go a gap year, in 1.5 years time, to see the world etc. however, i told my girlfriend this and she said she would not wait a year to see me, we miss eachother when we dont see eachother for a couple of days so her coming to visit still wouldnt work, what do i do? Do i go in 1.5 years time and never see her again, or stay and see what happens and regret it later on in life. My head is saying go but my heart is sayin dont, what do you think?

Thanks

Why woulnd't she wait for you? is a year that bad? im in a lond distance relationship and have been for well over a year now and the saysin 'absense makes the heart grow fonder' never rings more true than when you are in that kind of situation. Worry about this problem in 1.5 years time , and enjoy life together in the meantime.
Take her with you

Thnx brenda thts what i was thinking. I would love to take her Canary but as she works full time she wont go away from her familly for 1 year.
At lot can happen in a year and a half - she might change her mind and come with you, or you might change your mind about your gap year!

Why woulnd't she wait for you? is a year that bad? im in a lond distance relationship and have been for well over a year now and the saysin 'absense makes the heart grow fonder' never rings more true than when you are in that kind of situation. People in the war were apart for years at a time but still waited for each other without question and that was without the means of communication we have today... what about u going away and using skype, email, calls and texts...? I worked abroad for nearly 3 years and this worked well for us... I think you should definately go, dont make a big deal about it now but this is YOUR life and if you want to go explore and enjoy it then why not... if she wont support you then i really think she's not worth the bother... harsh words i know but you shouldnt have to compromise your own dreams and ambitions should you? I say good luck and start planning!
Go - plenty more fish in the sea.
You'll probably find that after a gap year of travelling and new experiences, you won't have the same outlook in life as you do now and could very well find you've grown out of your girlfriend.
As everyone says; enjoy the now and see how you feel in 18 months.

Thanks guys, i was just wondering if i was being stupid thinking i should stay, i think that in the end i need to do it, it has been a childhood dream. I want to go and teach people to ski, and also visit Aus, i have an honours degree in Business Management and hopefully in 1.5 years time will have a masters in HRM. I wish there was an easier way, i know it will be heartbreaking as in 1.5 years time we will have been together 4.5 years but i think i should do it, thanks for all of your advice, its much appreciated!

Hope to speak again soon!
