I'm not watching the documentary tonight, but I will record it and watch if tomorrow. Not so much because I'm a fan of Greta (although I have defended her in the past from some of the hideous things I've seen written about her), but so I can make a more informed judgement of her for the future. I certainly wouldn't dismiss her, or anyone, because of their age.
Mozz - // It just sounds like you've made up your mind about her without getting any information on the girl. //
At nearly eighteen, I would not refer to Ms Thunberg as 'a girl'.

I will be interested to hear your thoughts on what she has to say - or more accurately, what her supporters have given her to say.

I wouldn't dismiss anyone because of their age as long as they were speaking within the parameters of that age.
My argument is, and remains, that I don't believe that a teenager, however hyped and deluded, has the experience and knowledge to add anything to a seriously complex set if circumstances.
As I have said before, had the young lady come up with anything genuinely new and innovative to add to the CC debate, it would be front page news around the world - which leads me to conclude that some people feel that being lectured by a teenager is something other than what it is - a short-lived novelty.

teacake - // On the whole I'm with her, but after seeing her last night there is a hint of a drama queen there. //
I would guess there would have to be.
Since Ms Thunburg's schtick is based on the notion that she is not a stuffed shirt but a teenager who speaks on a level with other teenagers, she has to ensure she does not drone on and on like the 'old people' do, but has the fervent angst and self-righteousness that is going to appeal to her target audience.

Greta is a young woman with significant mental health challenges. She has been used as a tool by both her parents and Organisations who are more interested in what she can bring them in donations than the mental health of this female. The messages she is delivering are not new messages, just rehashed and served up for the 'eternally incensed'. When she matures, calmes her thoughts and gets some professional help and perhaps medication for her mental health issues, then I may listen to her. Until then I'm afraid to me she's just another entitled teenager having a hissy fit at the adults. She needs to talk to David Attenborough -listen and learn.
Her mental health issues are well documented.
"At the age of 11, she stopped talking and eating, and lost ten kilograms (22 lb) in two months. Eventually, she was diagnosed with Asperger syndrome, obsessive–compulsive disorder (OCD), and selective mutism."
