bloody postman, must he prove to everyone he has real legs - is it the law?

The comedian on The Wheel has deformed arms on full show!  Both he and the contestant were joking about their problem limbs!

Question Author

bednobs, no equivalency there either.

because?

The postman may wear shorts when it's warm enough not to need long trousers he's not trying to show off his legs they are just functional. Many of the people without real legs wear shorts all the time just to show that they have false legs.  You don't see many game show contestants in shorts.

Is it the law that if you are a member of Mensa you must belittle other people and, mention said membership as much as are able......so that everybody knows?

Have you ever considered that it may be more practical for them, much easier to take the leg off if wearing shorts?

Question Author

17:09 I think I have mentioned mensa no more than 2 or 3 times since I've been here. Oddly enough there are a lot of mentions of mensa very few by me. Go on JTT money where mouth is, find 5.

TTT clearly likes to show off so he assumes everybody else does - not true.

Question Author

17:13, yes that is at least a practical explanation but when they are out on TV I don't think they have to remove their leg a lot do they?

I may offer a view from the experience of living with someone who lost a leg in 1989. Mr F lost his leg, and initially had to wear a 'pylon'. You can guarantee that his clothing got hung up in the hinge. On getting his 'proper' leg - he had to be able to access a little lever in order to unbend at the knee, then release it again in order to bend the leg.
But, he never went outside in shorts any more than he would have done if he still had both legs.
I guess it's personal preference on the wearers part, and the acual mechanics of the leg being worn. There are so many different types.

I think if the legs are the "stick" sort rather than representations of real legs then trousers would flap about a lot and could be quite annoying. I don't mind folks wearing what they want. I didn't see the show.

They were the stick sort Dave.

Tora, you may not have noticed that its common for lots of postman to wear shorts in all weather's.  And there's a lot of joking about it.  Hence sp postmen and shorts get mentioned together.

TORATORATORA, if someone were wearing trousers, would you be able to tell if they had artificial legs or no?

Question Author

17:09 found them yet?

They don't have to be on The Wheel.  They always wear shorts when out shopping,as if to say "look at me" ...

Yes.

It's the kind of thing that sticks when it stands beside your high-brow posts, darlin'.

Question Author

18:39, evidence then? I hardly ever mention it, other like you do though, a lot.
