Is it the law that if you have prosthetic legs you must wear shorts so that everybody knows?

He often wears shorts, not because he wants to draw attention to himself but for the simple reason his prosthetic leg often malfunctions and he has to, excuse the pun, carry out running repairs. Trousers have to be removed to gain access, shorts don't, he carries a small tool case everywhere.

You assume other people think the same way as you.
If I see a person with a prosthetic leg, white stick, walking stick, guide dog or any type of disability I am simply aware that I need to be mindful, they may not be as agile or steady on their feet, might need more space, might need the offer of a helping hand.
