In 1953 a train journey from London to Brighton, shot from the driver's cab using time-lapse b&w photography, became a famous BBC 'intermission' film titled "London To Brighton In 4 minutes".

In 1983 the BBC commissioned a colour re-make to mark the 50th anniversary of the electrification of the line. For some reason the film was shorter and was titled "London to Brighton in 3 minutes". It featured music and sound effects by Kim McCroddan.

"London to Brighton side by side - 1953 vs. 1983" features the same music as used in 1983.
