Would You Call This Good Aftersale Service?

My old Beema is 04, just had a letter from BMW H.Q. that my car needs to go in to replace some parts in the Front (6) Air Bags, how's that for service?

Free? Or will there be a charge?

No charge BHJ, first of all I thought a scam mail until I contacted BMW UK & they confirmed, they also said the car would have a free valet, my reply to that, if can find dirt within this car you can keep it.

My initial thought was, they're in it for the money they're going to charge you .... but if it's free, like you say, then hats off to them :)

I'm not sure there will have been a problem. It's well known that explosives degenerate with time and BMW have a reputation to maintain. It's nice when proactive actions are taken rather than, like Vauxhall, claiming there was nothing wrong with their self-igniting Zafiras.

Wow what great service, until a big smiling fast talking salesman talks you into getting some spinning rims, a Delorian body kit or a hydraulic kit to make your car bounce

I think TWR is savvy enough not to be conned by such tactics Alba - not everybody would be, of course.

It's compliance with a quick wash thrown in to stop folk squealing about inconvenience.

Alba, I can guarantee you that would not happen in my case, the car is often underside fully checked by myself x

What they have explained in their letter Douglas that they would prefer these systems to be checked " In Case" one does deploy, in other words a claim I would think, good on them I say.

I am Not sure if the Government did make it law that failure to respond to a 'recall' could result in vehicles automatically failing MOT.

As it is a vehicle safety recall surely they are simply meeting their statutory obligation?
