it is a bit like being stuck in a traffic jam for three and a half hours on your way to see your relative in hospital . It is very distressing and you might lose precious moments with them .
how ever compare your suffering with those who 5 miles up the motor way have been involved in a fatal crash they will never be going home .

until one time when I came to the crash scene . since then I have not got so worked up

We have come off so lightly in our area, and now are seeing blue skies, thank goodness.

Our area suffered from flooding - so much so that we've had a flood defence scheme constructed.

Friends were flooded twice - once by the flood water, the other by the water table rising.

Its water, property , personal belongings. If you live by a river expect a flood. For the majority if not all, their families are safe, no one is dead that is the main thing. Those idiots driving through 3ft of water deserve all they get. We are 'flooded in' though sensibly live on the side of a hill but can't get out as one bridge is closed for repairs the other was closed until at least lunchtime due to the water being about 6 inches from the top. I've got wild ducks swimming on part of my front field. Every thing in the UK has to be a catastrophe. I'm with teacake on this one.

Think you may have misunderstood there Sherrard. I'm not devastated in any shape or form. Half our front field is 3 ft under water, including the lambing sheds which will be needed next week but hey ho - no ones died!
