I really cannot see that it would be right for the government to add to the funds the Mc Canns have raised in the search only for their daughter! They should not be given special treatment as there are so many other families whose children / loved ones have gone missing and these families have not had any financial support!! There are excellent charities that work very hard to find missing children and adults and to me this is where any government money to help find missing people should go. It is wrong to single the Mc Canns out and give them preferencial treatment, in whatever way. I do sympathise with them, but I am not sure they have gone about things in the right way. I do not agree with Kate McCann, that the government should take some responsibility in finding their missing daughter. It is either a bad choice of wording or a case of trying to push the responsability on to others, when it is actually the Portuguese Police and hence the Portuguese government who are responsible for finding little Maddy. Yes, as parents we want to pull out all the stops when something happens to our children, but I think Kate McCann needs to be a bit careful not to alienate people with her attitude and wording. But like her, I would never give up searching for my child.
