So , Kate McCann ( on publication of her book ) is calling upon David Cameron , for the government to '' take some responsibility '' in finding their missing daughter .
Is her choice of words reasonable , in the circumstances ?

Sorry - Shortplanks - can't agree with that. If they had been less middle class or a single parent etc they would have had social services involved in the other two children's lives and would probably not have them now.
But it is the press that have kept the Maddie thing going, as well as the Mccanns.
Its sad, but these storys (and I am sure based on station and looks) are cherry picked.
But as far as the original question is concerned - I think it is a very bad choice of words. using the word 'responsibility' is going to get this sort of reaction.

1) identify a terror suspect.
2) follow and identify his contacts.
3) Plan to apprehend said terrorist.
4) Chase him into the London Underground.
5) Shoot him several times in the head to make sure he is dead.
6) Find out that he is the wrong man.
7) Try and cover up their ill fated modus operandi.
Yepp......the UK Police standout as an example of true efficiency....unlike those "foreigners.

I think it's a perfectly reasonable choice of words.
Had that investigation taken place on British soil it would have been held up and shown to be the utter farce that it was.
I think it is entirely reasonable to ask 'your' government to intercede, with a foreign government, on your behalf and take up the responsibility of doing so.
I suppose it depends upon your definition of the word 'responsibility' in this case.
