Dr Filth....I never said it was.
i know that, that is just one clip there have been plenty in the press i would like to tell you about itchy's brother but he may not like it being made public
I think the gentleman's tirade probably had as much to do with the sight of the chief architect of the massive malaise in the Health Service standing in his ward surrounded by several walking health risks.

He may have been overly aggressive, but he is in fact correct in what he says.

As for the bow tie / pmpous link - not sure that holds water - he is not allowed to wear a tie, but perhaps feels that a degree of sartorial correctness is still appropriate to his position, so a bow tie satisifes he wish to appear professional, and fulfils the critera of the hospital dress code.
I think he was just someone who likes to be the centre of attention (hence the bow tie) and didn`t like being upstaged by David Cameron. He was jealous, basically.
I seem to be the lone voice in defedning this individual on here.

i think his approach was uneccesarily aggressive and attention-seking, but the poit he made was entirely valid - dress clodes in hospital are enforced for a reason, and the PM's camera crew are not exempt.
have to agree andy, but also with sqad.
he went about it in a pompous way, but "bare below the elbow" is there for a reason

<<<<<I think the gentleman's tirade probably had as much to do with the sight of the chief architect of the massive malaise in the Health Service standing in his ward surrounded by several walking health risks. >>>

THE CHIEF ARCHITECT?...he has been in office for just over a year and the "malaise" that you mention has been in the NHS for years.

<<<<He may have been overly aggressive, but he is in fact correct in what he says.>>>

I disagree....do the visitors at visiting times roll their sleeves up?
Whether he was right or not makes no difference to the fact that he was a pompous tit ...
no, but they don't tend to go from bed to bed, ward to ward seeing/touching many patients
if you have wards closing down and losing some staff i don't think many of his kind would be happy to see that twit with a camera crew getting brownie points
Can i ask, and apologies if it seems glaringly obvious to everyone else, but its not to me....what is the importance of having your sleeves rolled up?
that it so you can see they are not nicking anything
is not it
Boo - two reasons - the most important is that germs are more easily harboured and spread on clothing - shirt sleeves, ties etc which is why they are not allowed, and rolled sleeves gives easier access for frequent hand and forearm washing to preserve cleanliness.
> they don't tend to go from bed to bed, ward to ward seeing/touching many patients

It seemed that somebody had done an assessment and determined that Cameron and Clegg, who were up close to patients, needed to be tieless and short-sleeved; whereas the camera crew, a good 10 feet away from the patients, didn't.

But Mr. Tit either wasn't involved in that or didn't agree, and decided to handle it poorly ...
Well I hope he feels like a right twonk when he watches the footage.
On reflection, the surgeon may feel his outburst was inappropriate, but the point he made was still a valid one.
