I think many immigrants came here hoping to integrate with the indigenous population, but were sadly met with racism. Now they have their own areas....they are being accused of not making an effort.

Ummm, the same is said of Britons living in Spain (or wherever), it is usually the case it seems because different cultures stick together wherever they live. Doesn't mean that it's racist, it means that people either don't make enough effort on both sides OR multiculturalism "may" not work! Unless you can think of another reason this is said?
