What has it got to do with the likes of Vanessa Redgrave, would she like them bordering on her land?

why are they called travellers, that means moving, as opposed to staying put, and dossing on someone else's doorstep.
Neti, they are scrupulously clean in their own homes. Really, really fussy about cleanliness and tidiness. They distribute their rubbish elsewhere. They have no thought for anybody else at all.

It is illegal to just park where you like, try parking outside Downing Street for example, you would be arrested immediately and your vehicle transported away.

The time is long overdue for zero tolerance to be shown, if they refuse to move, then their vehicles should be towed away immediately.
Notsoyoung. The police seem to be afraid of them. If they go onto the sites they only go in large groups. But mainly they leave well alone.
I agree AOG. Those of us who live near them will probably all agree. The more tolerant are usually people who have no experience of what they are like or how they affect a neighbourhood, e.g. Venessa Redgrave.
I still think they should all go onto her land, or any land belonging to her family and refuse to move.
And following on from my post at 15.11. They don't have loo facilities in their own caravans for hygiene reasons, so it doesn't suprise me that they defacate elsewhere.
I think these people must go. They are in breach of planning laws to which everyone else must adhere, and if the bid to have the courts stay the eviction it will send a message to the thousands of other "travellers" that this is the course to take to establish what are in effect illegal towns. But, I forsee an almighty battle when the bailiffs go in to effect the the eviction. Inevitably the police are going to become involved to "prevent the breaches of the peace" that are going to happen in the form of probably most violent conduct. BTW who is Vanessa Redgrave?
I know lottie We have some in the family cos great nephew impregnated one, the house is gorgeous and we are only allowed in the kitchen. But when we lived in Truro the gypsies in the vans in the countryside were filfthy things!
Just imagine if they let them stay. They won't be able to enforce any planning permission rules and regulations. We will all be putting up buildings illegally and they won't have a leg to stand on. You can't do for one group for you don't do for everybody else.

If they stay, I shall build a small estate of houses on my land. I have just decided!!!
And is your great nephew still alive Netibiza. They usually have a intolerance to outsiders intergrating or should I say intercorsing
(I can't build on it now because I can't get planning permission :o( )
I thought these traveller girls were pure and virginal before marriage Neti. How did your nephew manage to impregnant one ;O)
great nephew!!!!! Ooooh Neti, you are so old >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

if they paid taxes ,council tax, tv licenses, not too mention all the stuff concerning their trucks and flash cars, maybe i'd sympathy for them, but not at mo: they'll win of course nobody in authority dare move them on (and has been said to where?)
if the link works, this seems to be the latest, who knows..

My uncle impregnated a gypsy girl and my cousins consider themselves to be gypsies. They don't work much but have a lovely collection of shotguns.....
These 'Travellers' say that if they are evicted they have nowhere else to go.........how about back home to Ireland?

....and why the protest banner saying 'No Ethnic Cleansing at Dale Farm'..........didn't realise the authorities were planning to murder the gypsies and bury them in mass graves!
10 long years, surely this should have been resolved long ago.
Yes it should have em.

Unfortunately the plethora of vague Human Rights and Equality legislation has frustrated the council's efforts to enforce the laws to which the rest of us are subject.
