Sorry, no link.
When they crack down on mobile phone use in cars which is illegal, I'll give it some serious thought.
(Ok mobile's with ear phones or whatever they are called is allowed)

how many of you who hate smoking like a drink, go in any a & e especially on a friday and saturday night and see the damage done by drink
every drinker says i just have the odd one and never drink and drink
just to be sociable
one drink calms me down
i like to unwind at the end of the day Media URL: http://www.metacafe.com/watch/260534/drunk_driver_kills/

Description:
there are risks involved in smoking in cars, I have been a passenger in a car and have nearly been involved in an accident because the driver was trying to get a cigarette out and light up whilst negotiating a junction. I have also been in a car when hot ash/burning tobacco has dropped onto someone and caused a slight panic which has diverted attention away from driving.
Making something law and enforcing it is 2 different things. Non-hands-free mobile phone use in a moving car is already illegal.
I don't often side with the smokers as it is a filthy habit and deserves the disapproval it is finally, at long last, getting: but it seems to me that if you are in your own car, on your own, then it is probably a step too far in protecting those unable to protect themselves, to ban smoking.
Now banning it whilst on the move as it is a distraction, that could be up for debate.
