What conflict? See what sense? The Falklands have been British longer than Argentina has even existed, nothing to discuss.

The Falklander's consider themselves British and the Government considered them British enough to send a task force to back that belief, no matter what further motives they might have had. So why should they suddenly change there mind, everything was said by the task force and to suddenly decide to give in to the Argentinians would be an insult to the memories of the boys who gave their lives so that the people down there could remain British.

It's not so much about the empire micmak, it's about the fact that the Falklander's consider themselves to be British, they want to stay British and they certainly don't want to be Argentinian.

The geographical location is not the issue. Many nations have dependent territories or enclaves which are not in their immediate vicinity. Many of them have come about for various historical reasons. The issue is the wishes of the inhabitants. More than 99% of Falkland Islanders consider themselves British, have no association with Argentina and have no wish to have any such association.

To suggest that we should negotiate with another nation so that they might exert some sort of control or influence over the islands and its British inhabitants is preposterous.

With all the terrible things happening around the world, surely the Falklands is a very minor matter. The islanders are happy to be British, just leave them alone. Britain and Argentina both have many similar problems currently, these should be sorted out first. Cameron and Botox Evita should meet and reach an agreement....if only to disagree! Argentina is a wonderful country with great potential. Cameron should try to show a little respect.

The Falkland Islanders are British. They do not wish to change their allegiance. Just so silly of Argentina because of the publicity about the Duke of Cambridge. What is there to discuss?

A lot of it has probibly has little to do with what the islanders want and more to the fact that the uk and uk private company's have invested billiions on oil explorations in around the falklands and will start pumping oil as soon as 2016
according to the bbc, oil production from the faulklands will peak at 120,000 barrels per day by 2018

Yes, of course, the invasion was unforgiveable, and resulted in a tragic loss of life. But for what?????????

Respect was not even considered. The troops were not properly trained and were forced to go there. Many died.

There isn't really anything to talk about. Thatcher left the Falklands undefended 30 years ago, the junta made a play and lost. The islands were recovered at great expenses and in lives and 10,000 penguins lived happily ever after.
