Even when appearing on a satire show, it seems that one has to be careful what one says.
Regarding the photo of the complainant anf published in the Daily Mail, one would be given the false impression that Angelina Purcell was a 'happy go lucky' kind of person, just goes to prove how much photographs can lie.

What I don't understand more than anything is why Streatham should need a “Town Centre Manager”. It is not a town. It is a small part of the London Borough of Lambeth.
Apparently Ms Purcell (who has for some unknown reason been awarded an MBE) “...works with council and police officers to focus on Streaham's (sic) issues, as well as providing support for local businesses.” She also “...markets the great things about Streatham, including the High Road and its leisure venues, to boost Streatham as a sustainable commercial town centre.”
Methinks (a) she has ideas above Streatham’s station, (b) she has her work cut out and (c) she has no sense of realism or of humour. Her salary may be better spent employing two or three police oficers.

Firstly, Jo Brand is only partially right. Streatham is like South London's answer to Dalston. It is quite near Wandsworth, Clapham and Balam (like Dalston is near Islington and Clerkenwell) - neither area compare particularly well with their neighbours.
You live in Streatham when you can't afford Clapham.
I wouldn't live there, but I wouldn't exactly call it a ****hole (it has some lovely Victorian houses - but rubbish transport links).
Also, Jo Brand is a national treasure. Her last comedy ('Getting On') is one of the best sitcoms of the past ten years, and let's not forget, it was Jo Brand who spoke up against Carol Thatcher calling Jo-Wifried Tsiona a g*llywog.
For these two things alone, I think we should cut Ms Brand some slack.

i think new Judge has got to the heart of the matter - as usual.
Ms. Brand makes more or less the same comment about everywhere she visits, it is seen as a part of her humour, and in no way is it intended to be taken seriously - anymore than when she walks on stage an says "I'll just move the mic. stand out of the way ... there, now you can see me ...!
She is a comic perfomer - if her utterences are intended to be serious, I am sure she will flag them appropriately, otherwise, assume she is being humerous.
