They might ask for place of birth or when you achieved nationality. There might be a section asking for your ethnic grouping. But Nationality is Nationality is Nationality. Some people, it is true can hold dual Nationality. But you cant become a British Pakistani National or a British Russian National.
"if someone once asked you your nationality, one would say English, Irish, Scottish, Welsh, am i right?, if so then what do we call someone who is born here in England to Pakistani parents? this is where it all falls to bits. "

I don't think the powers that be really thought through so many people entering the country from wherever. the council leaders, school heads and NHS bosses have been all singing from the same hymn sheet on this one.
That increased population needs to be balanced with resources, and some may feel that they have contributed all their lives to this country, and got little or nothing in return, whilst seeing some more recent arrivals getting better treatment, which would seem patently unfair.
