Do You Agree
that the Chris Huhne and Vicky Pryce story has become idiotic ? Prison after their lives are already ruined. For such a minor offence.

Eddie ... Perving the C of J is not (of itself) "minor"
But I think most offences can be less or more serious. For instance ...
Speeding at 72 on the motorway ... not serious
Speeding at 60 through the town centre ... serious, reckless, unforgivable
Perverting the course of justice by hiding evidence about a murderer ... Serious, unforgivable
Perverting the course of justice by claiming it was not you who broke the speed limit on the motorway ... slightly less serious

JJ your argument that this is just about speeding and does not matter is just plain WRONG. The speeding was a minor matter , I just do not see why he just didn't accept the points and get on with his life. It was the lying once he had been found out , he only changed his plea at the last second once he saw that he had no hope of getting a 'not guilty'.
Sorry , but we do expect better of those who lead us and run the government , they do have to have a higher standard of behavouir than the 'common man'.
If an MP can lie about this how can we ever trust any of them ?

Surely lying is lying. Ok, people probably do take speeding points for others, etc but if they get caught presumably they would face the same treatment. Also, she only coughed up when he dumped her and he lied continuously, using the stem to suit their own ends. Personally, I think it is good that they have gone to prison. They used the law to suit themselves and now are paying the price.
