Behave you two or I'll invite you for dinner!

AOG....Don't think we can measure maturity in years....especially on AB. Shar certainly proves that......
well said, shar. I welcome your input - it's refreshing from a younger person
"Doesn't one have to be a certain age to be a member of AnswerBank? "

I can't see anything in the Terms of Use...

http://www.theanswerbank.co.uk/AB-Editors-Blog/article/the-answerbank-terms-of-use/

"If mature ABers are not aware that they are debating with fellow adults, it can be embarrassing for the child to read certain things that come out in general adult discussion"

There is nothing on Answerbank that's any worse than you would see on T.V. news.

And the fact that AB makes you blush sometimes is not a reason to limit other people's use of it.
AOG - This is a family site. Why do you think we have a swear filter?
..and moderators?
Can't be worse than anything my Mum cooks Gness, hence her boyfriend calls it 'Cordon Bleuurrrgh' lol
Generally speaking, I find it's the adults who get embarrassed sooner than the "children" in a lot of contexts
If gness cooks it, it will be something with 'Ding' on the end lol.
shari...I can't see what your age has got to do with anything. You seem able to make your points in very cogent and intelligent way. In fact you are considerably better spoken (written) than some of the regulars here on AB, who seem to whine and whinge constantly !

Yeah, ok.
Ping! Tony....prick and ping.......**** and ding just wouldn't be right...x

Off before Ed puts me back in his pack of cards.... ;-)
so it was more, what do you expect, or want?
I haven't even read the precious answers because i was so annoyed i have to jump right in.

Why on earth can't you people leave the poor woman alone? I was never a fan but admired her achievements from the sidelines but even if i didn't i would never dream of abusing a pensioner in the "real world" or online and most certainly not if she was in her grave.

I keep hearing about dismay and outrage at the amount but seriously does this affect you in any way shape or form? Will you be reduced from your Sunday roast to a pot noodle because of this? Obviously not.

What amazes me is that these hand wringing, sandal wearing lefties have nothing better to do then scour the media until they find something to be outraged at.

Is this some kind of psychological power trip?
Mrlomax....I'm afraid an awful lot of people hated her, its a simple as that. Just because she is now dead, I don't think many of us will be changing our minds any time soon. Sorry about that !
@mrlomas

No - just a reaction to the ghastly hagiographic crap that has spread like a miasma across the media since her death.

I've preserved a dignified (I hope) silence until now - and indeed berated people for a total lack of respect to her family and friends during the period between her death and the funeral .

But I've just about had enough & will now take every opportunity to remind people of the destruction to our society and the wanton pissing away of our national wealth that she presided over during her period in office.
Mikey i was never a fan and in fact her policies directly led to the deaths of 2 people i knew so i was never a fan but to see countless people happy to abuse a dead pensioner is not on.
I wonder how many on here will also detest Scargill when he pops his clogs - after all he was the person responsible for the unions losing power - and the hardships that followed. The country could not afford his disportionate increase in wages demands.
MrLomax....I have tried not to be nasty to Mrs T but its been very hard these last 2 weeks with such a lot of right-wing drivel in all branches of the media. On the day of her funeral I turned on my radio in the middle of an interview with somebody or other and I thought that Mother Teresa had died again. But leaving personal preferences behind ..........

This discussion is about the expense of her funeral. £3.6 million is an awful lot of money to pay for a woman who died a millionaire. She wasn't a serving Monarch or a serving monarchs sister or mother. Both the present incumbent of Buck House and her Consort will, presumably, be having a funeral in the not-to-distant future and will deserve some considerable public expenditure.

But Mrs T was just an ex-Prime Minister. Whether she was a good or bad ex-Prime Minister is irrelevant in this discussion. Wilson, Callaghan, Heath, and Alex Douglas Home were all ex-Prime Ministers and didn't have anything like the same drain on the public purse. It would appear that Mrs T's funeral was out-of-proportion. Again I repeat, she died a very rich woman indeed.

Now I know I just typed all that above but it seems very logical to me !
But brenden ( good afternoon by the way ! ) When Scargill dies, it is extremely unlikely that the public purse will be called upon to fund his funeral, and I very much doubt that the crowds of tearful mourners will have to be restrained on the streets of London by 1000's of Policemen on very expensive overtime, so I am at a loss to understand why you mentioned the chap at all.
