Does anyone else that think that this BNP-lite twit looks like Victor Meldrew ?

Just heard him being interviewed by Naughty on the Today program. There is a phrase that goes something like " when you are in a hole, stop digging" but he seems unaware of what he saying !

The big difference between Victor Meldrew and this twit, is that Victor, on the whole, had the best intentions and meant well. He was also rather endearing, something that Mr Bloom could never be accused of, even by his best friends !

If anybody still needs a reason to ignore BNP-lite at the Ballot Box, they need look no further then Mr Bloom. By the way, this has been reported in the Daily Mail as well as the Guardian, at least according to Naughty.

An unwise choice of words. A politician should know better, realise it will "come back and bite them", unless the publicity was considered worth the flak. The concern that some countries have such corruption that any charity may not go where it ought, is a point worth discussing though.

I agree OG....foreign aid is a problematic area and and needs debating. But this twit has done nothing to move the discussion on. He is typical of the ragbag bundle of misfits and the swivel-eyed that Farage has tried to coral into a creditable political party. For be it for me to feel any sympathy for Farage but it must be like herding cats. Maybe Dave was right when he described them as "fruitcakes, loonies, and closet-racists"

Apparently he also said, in 2011, that small firms would have to be "stark staring mad" to hire young women because of the risk of them needing maternity leave at a later stage.

If he needs help in recognising what the stark staring mad actually look like, he need look no further than a mirror.

brilliant - a politician that speaks the language of the people. Most people i know hold those views and speak that langauage, a trend that is only bucked in internet land.

Really? Normal people call vast swathes of the globe bongo bongo land, do they? Not in my experience they do not. The concern is indeed a legitimate one - how is aid money being spent, is it going to the people it is destined for or is it being trousered by the corrupt, and is it furthering British interests or culture - these are all valid areas for debate.

No politician of any worth should use such dismissive and frankly insulting language though.

Any one else seeing a concerted pattern here though? There is more than a hint that this focus on UKip is part of a strategy masterminded by Lynton Crosby. It is also thought that he had a hand in the strategy of the "Go Home" vans driving around in areas of London etc.
