Just thought I would enter this on behalf of sp1814, because I think he may be a little shy considering that he has been criticising me for repeating the same stories even though mine were years apart.

Krom, I have to say, I have gay friends, and I've never heard any of those terms - but they don't frequent gay clubs, etc, or make a big deal of their sexuality.
sp1814

if you read the header - AOG says he is entering it on behalf of YOU !
so I thought you might have thanked him....
Well, Peter , I understand,so there! Advanced thinkers are 'mad' 20 years before acceptance but are looked upon as prophets if, looking back for five years from when they announced their opinion ,the world has agreed. Ibsen? The minority cannot always be right, but it is striking that so much of what we now accept was once what only a minority agreed with.

I did find sand and sands in gay slang. You realy don't want to know, but the activity or perversion is not confined to homosexuals !
Everyone has principles
but Jesus taking it to the house of Lords on principle means

they are particularly expensive principles - think how many chocolate mice you could buy for kiddies etc. A contemporary of mine has just squandered £100k on a property dispute and THAT was only to the appeal court.......
Hi Freddie - missed you in law - not a very productive week....
//Not true Andy, Sexual Discrimination legislation applies to what sex you are not how you get your jollies. //

I'm sure that's correct (because shoota said so). But actually, if one of the men had been a woman, there'd have been no problem...
naomi24:

"Actually, I find all these funny words and acronyms rather juvenile. If gays want to be treated equally, why make such a fuss about being gay - and why stereotype people? Doesn’t that encourage divide? I don’t understand that."

SANS is an acronym normally used on dating sites...(like NS for 'non-smoker').

The reason these words (bear, twink, otter, gym-bunny) start appearing is because within the gay scene there are a whole number of sub-scenes.

Think of 'gay' like 'rock music'.

Within rock, you have heavy metal, punk rock, death metal, rock 'n' roll etc...

It's a quick and easy way to align yourself...

Not a great analogy - but the best I can come up with at short notice.
pixie373 in the press it said they had refuse an unmarried couple in the past from using a double bed

"I have gay friends, and I've never heard any of those terms"

Because there's no real reason for you to know those terms. But I would bet you a pound to a penny that every gay mate you have knows exactly what a twink, a bear, and a gym bunny is.

Perhaps not an otter though. I only found out that one last year and I'm still not 100% sure that I'm not having my leg pulled.
Ah, I see. Thank you.
I wonder how business is now for them.....
I'll ask - and get back to you.
shoota, all the publicity has probably brought Christians flocking .... so to speak. (Sorry).
naomi24

Please!

This is what they should say:

Twink: young gay man
Bear: Big, beefy gay man...normally hairy
Gym bunny (aka Muscle Mary): Overly muscled gay man

And whilst you're at it, ask them what an otter is...
I will. I'm going to write those words down - I'll never remember them.
naomi24

Actually I read earlier this year that their business had collapsed because of all the negative publicity - lost booking etc.
Congregating Naomi?
This couple broke the law in discriminating against the gay chaps. Whether you agree or disagree about gay people is entirely up to you, but it doesn't alter the fact that the law was broken.

The Guest House owners have now taken this to the highest court in the land and at every stage they have lost. That is the way that the law worked in Britain. They are guilty of discrimination, pure and simple....nothing else matters.

Everything else about this case is just froth, especially the ignorant and offensive comments that have been made against gay people by some people here on AB today. This is why we have antidiscrimination laws in place. It isn't there to protect bigots.
There may be lesbian archetypes...but I don't actually know any lesbians, so I wouldn't know any of their slang.
They are out of business, having been forced to sell up to cover their substantial legal costs. They have paid somewhat of a cost for rather a Victorian stance...God moves in a mysterious way.
