A greater number of liberal 'chatterati'

A recognition that UKIP don't represent the voice of London?

Fear that some of us will lose our EU home help?

Or a conspiracy amongst the Guardianistas?

Or a disgusting streak of common sense?

63 and almost 40 make a 100.
am I missing something, gromit?
Perhaps they've realised they only have 1 policy
I think Gromit was spinning the percentages in favour of the counter argument which NJ chose not to.
I'm a simple man. ;-(
According to womankind we all are Svejk.

NJ said that 60% of Londoners were NOT born in the UK.
The census says 63% of Londoners WERE born in the UK.
in London almost 40% of residents were born outside the UK.
Is what he said.
UKIP's share of the vote in 2013 was 23%, this year it was 17%.
Wasn't Labours share 38% in 2012?

have you been out celebrating the labour 'gains' with mikey?
Most of the immigrants I know and their offspring consider themselves the nationality of their forebears until it comes to freebies (benefits, housing, PC, etc) then they are British imo. They will not vote Conservative and certainly not UKIP for fear of any detrimental change in their lifestyle. OK waiting for the ceiling to fall on me but please no racist, bigot or any of those words so easily bandied about. The EU is a corrupt money making cesspit that would love to see (and control) our Financial affairs and I hope Farage is in there to fight our corner.imo

blimey, lets see how many numbers we can get on this page. which is 5 of 5.
Unless people put robust links to their claimed figures, they're meaningless.
In 2013 and 2014 the share of the vote was as follows

2013 Tories 25% Labour 29% Lib Dems 16% UKIP 23%

2014 Tories 29% Labour 31% Lib Dems 13% UKIP 17%

Now that's odd...because most of the immigrant I know are conservative (with a small 'c') and Conservative (with a big 'C') voters.

This is especially true of the Asians I know, because the Conservatives have always been the party of traditional family values, which is a very strong aspect of Asian life.

Also, and I'm sure you must be aware of this - many Asians are self-starters (small business owners) and therefore I assume, lean towards parties who support small businesses and this too is something of a Conservative strength (at least, that's their public perception).

I'm not saying that you're wrong about immigrants you know - perhaps I've hung around with more 'upscale' people, but your characterisation is very much at odds with mine.
90% SE farmers of livestock have set up in Europe. The value of homeland for development to house an increasing population, is the springboard for Brits to farm in cheaper land in Europe. While we may have some migrants from the eastern blok, they in turn, smoothe our agriculture path into their cheaper expansive lands. Its a win win UKIP cant see.

Specsavers for UKIP supporters!

"I think the notion that people voting UKIP display a lack of common sense is somewhat insolent, sp."

But no more insolent than UKIP themselves saying that they polled poorly in London because Londoners are more educated?
sp, did they actually say that? I couldn't see anything like it in the link provided.
