Like a lot of silly little boys. You would have thought as these MEPs are benefiting from feeding at the EU trough, they would have been cheering Beethoven to the rafters.

The UKIP sham was laid bare on BBC Breakfast this morning. They followed one Janice Atkinson on her first day in Brussels. They then showed her and others with their backs turned at the playing of the European anthem.Afterwards at a short interview she said"We really don't want to be here" but didn't add that while we are we take the salary and all the rest of the...

Ignore the link and change the subject at the same time, as you wish karenkay...its entirely your right to do so. Carry on supporting UKIP...again, your right to do so.
I'm unsure what you expect an anti EU party to do when in the EU parliament, save to show displeasure at the whole proceedings. One would have something to moan at if they either supported the EU or did nothing. Of course they really need to win at Westminster to get anything significant done.

No I wouldn't. They want out of the EU.

Wouldn't it be more honest not stand for the EU in the first place ? Isn't there something even a teeny bit hypocritical of joining an organisation that you strongly disapprove of, just to earn a huge salary ?If Britain were to leave the EU, these people would be left high and dry, and penniless !

UKIP have been castigated many times, over hardly ever attending but still being happy to take the huge sums of money available to them. That is the reason that they turned out today...not to make this childish protest, but to sign on the dotted line and get their dosh for attending. They get even more dosh for attending than they do by staying away !

If these individuals really want Britain to leave the EU, then they should resign their seats and fight for the Tories, where many of them have come from in the first place. Because its only with the Tories that they stand any chance whatsoever of taking the first step in leaving, and that is with a referendum.

A simple and effective way for an anti-EU party to make a protest without making too much of a fuss.
same old tosh, you should get a life...oh you have its answerbank
"Wouldn't it be more honest not stand for the EU in the first place ? Still singing the red flag at the annual Marxist conference?
When the party was founded, the idea was that UKIP would donate their salaries to the NHS. Farage quickly got rid of that idea (I wonder why...)

Leaving aside my distaste for UKIP, I actually think turning your back on something is quite a potent symbol for your distaste.

At least they turned up, which is extremely unusual for UKIP.
And no, I don't begrudge UKIP for standing in EU elections. If I were in their position, I would probably do the same thing. Given low turnout, and the fact that UKIP fixates on the issue a lot more than the major parties do, it makes a lot of sense because they are the easiest way for it to capitalise on votes.

And a seat at the European parliament is still a platform - which UKIP needs.

"The best way to bring down an organisation is from the inside"

I am not a UKIP supporter, I do however support the Right to Free Speech and the Right to Protest (peacefully).

It would appear that The Labour Party and it's Supporters do not!

And, I bet they can spell 'Response'
;-)

I agree. If you want childish behaviour, look no further than our own PM's question time with it's jeering, guffawing, paper waving nonsense from all sides, back and front benchers alike.
