Why after 51 years of screening 'Doctor Who' was there any need to include a Lesbian scene in the first place?
/// The decision to remove the first lesbian encounter in the show’s 51-year history has angered gay rights campaigners, who accused executives of giving into homophobia. ///

It' all a bit of a non event ( at least until the BBC decided to remove the scene) and tbh if it was a 'lesbian kiss' it was the least erotic thing I've ever seen. It was an air exchange between two lesbian characters, not quite the same thing, nothing erotic or sexual about it at all. Should it have been removed because someone's sensibiities got upset? No because...

'"Why after 51 years of screening 'Doctor Who' was there any need to include a Lesbian scene in the first place"? Just a simple question the BBC should have asked themselves before they decided to include it. '
If, as you say, you have no problem with lesbians and only six folk out of the millions who seen the episode have complained, do you not think the BBC was correct in its decision?

Have you actually read the report, because unless they have altered it I can see no reference to six people complaining, it was sp1814 who stated this.
As regards whether or not the BBC were correct to cut the scene out, that only the BBC can answer, but according to how this thread has gone I would say no.
As I have said time and time again, I couldn't care less either way.

But you didn't.
You asked this question:
"Why after 51 years of screening 'Doctor Who' was there any need to include a Lesbian scene in the first place?"
That is YOUR question. That is not a question raised by the BBC, or the Daily Mail or Stonewall or anyone else.
Your headline is a point without a question:
"Doctor Who Lesbian Kiss Scene Cut In Case It Offends Asian Audiences."
And then you ask your question, which is:
"Why after 51 years of screening 'Doctor Who' was there any need to include a Lesbian scene in the first place?"
If you have no interest in the answer to *YOUR* question, why on earth ask it on the fir...
You know what? You're okay...we both know what the answer is to that question.
Let us both quietly retreat now...you in the assured knowledge that I'm being thick and deliberately not understanding your point (probably down to my lefty PC agenda...and me in the knowledge that you have once again embarrassed yourself, and are desperately trying to squirm out of the giant hole you've dug yourself into.

AOG has asked why the scene was included. It has been explained: because two female characters (who are in a relationship and have been on the show for years now) needed to share air. And yes, AOG, audiences in Singapore who wonder how the two characters could possibly hold their breath so long will be left in the dark. Unless they google it and/or download the uncensored version.

I will only paste the first part of your summing up, because you have got that completely correct.
I won't bother with the second part, simply because a person such as you described yourself so perfectly, would be the type of person to make the comment that was outlined in the second part.
And if you choose to make reference to the numbers of people who complained, (which your side-kick THE CORBYLOON parrot fashion also referred to), please supply the source it came from, so as to prevent any misunderstanding.

/// It wasn't done in case it offended Asian audiences AOG, it was done in case it broke Asian laws. ///
And don't you think that the Asian authorities who make sure that their laws are not broken, could also be classed as 'audiences' since they would need to view the scene before they could be 'offended' enough to class it as unlawful?
/// The people would probably rather see the kexchange. ///
Know that for certain do you? But then perhaps not seeing that you chose to use the word 'probably'.
