Should There Be A Lasting Memorial For Murdered Lee Rigby, Such As The One That Was Placed For Stephen Lawrence, A Few Miles Away In Eltham?

Andy, you're a very vociferous and opinionated person. So much so that you often have to issue apologies. Yet if you feel transgressed against, you don your moderator cap and threaten people. Imo, you should either moderate your own behaviour or stop issuing threats to others.(or better still, both)

I absolutely do not think you are making it up. The phrase is too specific for you to have made it up.
I just don't think it came from me.
I believe your mistaken.
Let's treat this like a court of law - I am innocent until proven guilty.
Right now, I did not say that phrase.
It's up to you to prove I did.
If you are unable to, then I am henceforth completely innocent.

As I said earlier - I'm sure that I've got things wrong in the past and ascribed posts to the wrong people. It's not a big deal, as long as everyone on the News section remembers that no-one had perfect recall.
If I said it, I said it - no biggie.
But if I didn't say it, then it should be acknowledged.
Put it this way, if I found the thread where that particularly odious remark was said, and could prove it wasn't me, I would feel no sense of victory. All I would feel is, "Thank God we can put that to bed and move on".
...but that's probably because my politics are 'left of centre' and as everyone knows - we're the best people.

PiperH - "Does Ed have the ability to remove best answer? If so I suggest he may want to use it on this one."
He does Piper, as do any of the Moderators.
l'd suggest that the Ed will leave it because freedom of speech is the essence of the site.
Another Moderator may well take exception to it - as have I - but it remains to be seen if they exercise their right to remove it or not.
If no-one does, I would hope that AOG will take the comments on board, and may think a little more carefully next time.

Best 'Best Answer' IMO !
If anyone else had posted this 'Q' then I suspect the following posts not have been quite so vociferous.
Why should the 'Best Answer' be removed? Sometimes in life we all agree to disagree...why should it be any different on AB?
I.likely along with other lurkers. tend to avoid AB as it often becomes either a one man show or a personal nit-picking attack, sometimes it doesn't make for pleasant reading albeit in a debating format.
I agree there should be a a memorial of sorts to signify any heinous attack which has impacted on our right to live our lives in a democratic country.

Of course AOG should remove this Best Answer....it is childish beyond belief..... and belittles any views he holds.
If you ask a question you should give the best "answer" to the question you asked.... not to someone toadying up to your petty grievances with another member.
Otherwise it makes a mockery of the best answer option.
