Should There Be A Lasting Memorial For Murdered Lee Rigby, Such As The One That Was Placed For Stephen Lawrence, A Few Miles Away In Eltham?

Andy, you're a very vociferous and opinionated person. So much so that you often have to issue apologies. Yet if you feel transgressed against, you don your moderator cap and threaten people. Imo, you should either moderate your own behaviour or stop issuing threats to others.(or better still, both)

I have seen you threaten people with your mod-cap on, andy.
It just doesn't seem fair to me. Not sure what the answer is. Perhaps other moderators just 'mark people's cards' without telling them, which is worse, imo. Maybe they shouldn't censure/censor people on threads they themselves are involved in. But, of course, they could then carry their seething resentment over to another thread.
As an aside, all the mods seem to be of the wishy-washy, liberal, muesli-munching persuasion. Couldn't us more pragmatic types have some representation. We feel like an oppressed minority.

It's rather a gross error of judgement and good taste to post a question about a serious and tragic case such as the murder of Lee Rigby:
/Should There Be A Lasting Memorial For Murdered Lee Rigby..?/
elicit nearly 100 replies across a broad range of views
and then decide that the 'best answer' is one that does not address the issue but instead makes a personal attack on another ABer
That's slightly nauseating.

Svejk - "I have seen you threaten people with your mod-cap on, andy."
I'd love just one example - if you have one.
By the way - just to make sure we understand each other -
"I will come round and tear your head off and wee down your neck ..."
That's a threat.
"Desist from your behaviour or I will report you ..."
That is a warning.
See the difference?
"It just doesn't seem fair to me. Not sure what the answer is."

Not sure what point you are making there.

Insulting mods is unlikely to earn you a place among them any time soon.
"Couldn't us more pragmatic types have some representation."
Pragmatic!! Is that what you think you are!!!!
"We feel like an oppressed minority."
Speak for yourself - I do.

Lorna Taylor, a family friend whose son served alongside the fusilier, said the council feared a memorial to Drummer Rigby could become a focal point for tension between the community and far-right supporters.//
*** to far right supporters & their stupid ideology, this lovely lad had his life needlessly snuffed out by villains who should have been strung up on the nearest lamp post. Let us at least have a fitting memorial to him.

ummm accusing AOG of being 'a drama queues' is literally the funniest post I have ever read in my decade on AnswerBank.
So funny, that I swear, a little bit of wee nearly came out.
I've not checked the last couple of pages on the thread yet, but to answer AOG's question earlier (as to whether the Stephen Lawrence memorial plaque should be taken down, because it has been defaced so many times) - I sa, "No, certainly not".
And after a lot of thought, I would say that if Greenwich Council are using the same excuse for vetoing the erection of the plaque to Lee Rigby, the. They too are wrong.
Worried about attracting extremists?
Put the Damon plaque up, and the set up a cctv camera to catch them!
Advertise the location of the plaque in 'Extremist ****head Monthly' so you can attract as many as possi...
Wow - wouldn't it be weird if that were really a monthly magazine?

I have to say...you have also accused me of something I didn't actually say.
Remember a couple weeks ago when you said that I had written that 'menial people deserve to work in menial jobs', when I posted about the Tory MP's remarks about the disabled working for £2 an hour?
With the vast amount of posts that me, you, andy_hughes, ToraToraTora, ummm, naomi24, mikey4444 and AOG submit, it's very easy to misremember the past. I know I've been guilty of the same. It's probably best to only refer to past comments if you have evidence to hand.
Incidentally, the reason I'm being uncharacteristically even-handed here is because I got out of hospital today and am on a shedload of painkillers.
Once they wear off, I'm going to be trumpeting my usual biased left wing cobblers.
