Many substance abusers slip into their addiction when they turn to drugs, or drink, in an effort to 'self-medicate' and blot out some horrible experience from their past. They soon find that they haven't dealt with the old problem, just added another.
When I hear of an addict dying at a young age I do think it a pity.

My views on drugs are well known on here, and I am not about to change anytime soon. I see a dead drug addict as one less addict that will encourage others to take up the habit. I make no apology for that stance.

No one is asking you to change just understand that often there is a horrendous story behind an addicts addiction.

I understand that fully Ummm, as the curse of drug addiction has touched my family. But we need to condemn more and sympathise less. A whole generation has grown up thinking that regular drug taking is OK, because
"everybody does it " and its not.

people who abuse drugs are nit necessarily bad people. It's extremely harsh to say you don't care if they die.

People whose life passions include raping and murdering vulnerable women, on the other hand, are bad people. It's not at all fair to compare them.
