Would you like to see the burka banned? I consider it a threat to national security, apart from anything else

Interesting blackadder, and who knows...it might very well be true, but completely off-topic !
I'd better not LB ...to many er, Daily Maileestas (that doesn't really work does it!)

Ban the disha-dasha at the same time....you could hide half of an Aldershot arsenal under the bedsheets.
Mikey continually bangs on about common sense, but he hasn’t offered one common sense reason for not banning it – and neither have any of the other supporters of this anti-social garment. All I’ve read from them is a lot of hot air. If you want a common sense reason, I’ll duplicate part of my post from 14:55 today.

…//a friend of mine who works for a major department store tells me that CCTV is useless in aiding the police in finding and apprehending shoplifters who wear burkas. They are completely anonymous – and descriptions of their clothing don’t help.//

It's common sense to ban it.

I just knew as soon as I saw your name pop up that would be your response, naomi.

My beef is more to do with the OP's suggestion that it's a "threat to national security" and some of the other dubious reasons offered by AB's contingent of you-know-whats. The original question was "Ban the burka?" not ...then provide reasons why, if you said "no".
The reason is easy, it makes the wearer unidentifiable.
AP, No, I don't know 'whats' - and we know that at least one terror suspect has escaped wearing a burka; therefore it can most certainly be a threat to national security. There should be no argument about this. There is nothing sensible to say in its defence.

Of course it should be banned. It looks like a disgusting form of domestic abuse to me and it certainly has no place here in the UK. What the hell are little kids (and others) suppose to think when they see groups of people dressed like that. Looks very offensive.

Oh dear. Why should I bother. I posted at 1501 what Naomi posted at 2028.
Am I persona non grata or wearing a cloak nowadays on this site? Only difference I didn't provide link becaus, as I stated, it is sooooooooo easy to check for yourselves. Type in: Terrorist flees charges wearing a Burka and escapes justice. Simples. And some of you think the wearing of an unnecessary garb should not be banned in the interest of security ?
Burkhas are traditionally worn in the desert to avoid sand covering in a sandstorm.
...yes, then the Daily Mail came along and suckered loads of angry xenophobic old gits into believing they are for covering up the wives of jealous husbands ;-)
Oh, come, come, AP. When did you last see a sand storm in our neck of the woods?
So many sand storms here
Jealous husbands, my ass! The covered women convince themselves theyre more modest than western women
There was one in your teacup only a few minutes ago BA ;-)
You mean my gin glass.
If you like :-) ...cheers btw
