I think it unlikely that suburban British teehangers will be cutting off heads any time soon, but like you, I don't know their motives or mindsets.

The entire concept or radicalisation is a seriously disturbing one, and I do believe that UK clerics should be seen to be doing more to prevent it.

Think the Clerics are encouraging it. Mosques need closer monitoring. The planning applications in London for more of them is quite alarming. I have a friend who works in planning.

I think this is a key point in this case. Many people would say that these girls were well aware of what they were embarking on and good riddance to them but those who retain some pity would look at this and view it as reasonably preventable. We are not privvy to know of the extent of any discussions with the girls but obviously it was not enough.

When I once referred youngsters of 14 & 16 year olds as 'children' I was harshly corrected.
