Racist Flag !
Tomorrow is Black country day ( an area of the West midlands ), the Black country has it's own flag designed by a twelve year old girl two years ago.
And now political activist Patrick Vernon OBE comes out with this load of tosh.

I was stuck on an untreated road so I fitted my shiny new snow chains to the wheels of my wee car and was jast about to move off when the scales fell from my eyes.
The black of the tyres, completely encircled by the hated sybols of oppression brought me up short. So short that I sat there till the thaw came. I then took the chains to a sustainable smiddy where they were crafted into a highly polished mirror in which I could have a long hard look at myself as I contemplated my insensitivity.
Knob.

I don't agree with everything he said, but he has a point, which I appear to be the only one to agree with. The design alone looks like a neo-fascist symbol. The region has produced more than just chains, from the highly admired, decorative tiles (used an the Palace of Westminster) and the best locks in the world (Chubb) at Wolverhampton and its environs.
I suggest a beautiful key shape - used already frequently in heraldry- against a tile pattern from Colebrookdale.

What a totally ridiculous reaction! It really is time that we stopped taking such idiot seriously and laughed them out of existence. The objectors need to grow up.
I suppose that the next thing will be that 'Yorkshire day' (1st of August for anyone who doesn't know) should not be celebrated with lots of white roses! I am really getting totally fed-up to the back teeth with this sort of trouble-making, over-sensitive, racist idiot. There - I've said it! He's the b888dy racist not us ot the designer.

Just-Jude - you really are letting your imagination run away with you. I've just reviewed the design and there is nothing more than the link between the chains there, balanced by the needs of the colour for the design. Honestly.... words fail me, they really do. I don't say it's a brilliant design (very fourth-form), but there really is nothing racist about it and certainly no 'slant-eyes' image or intention.
