Every year, he takes part in the Pride Parade ... on his mobility scooter !!

He carries a banner saying " I'm the oldest gay in the village".

In the past, he has been given a criminal conviction for being gay. This weekend, he married his BF, to coincide with Pride Weekend.

That's the way to go when you're in your 90s!

douglas he did not overstep the mark. Just because people have views not agreed on by the majority does not mean they have overstepped the mark. He was not more personally abusive to anyone else on this silly thread. He has views some people find abhorrent -that's not against the Law. AB is becoming more like communist China by the day.

I think the point is that it's his views in combination with the "I was just posting it to see what response I'd get". As jno says, this is the definition of internet trolling, and it's almost universally unacceptable on internet forums.

I'm going to try and summarise the who gay/paedophilia thing, and if I am misrepresenting anyone, please correct me.

Some straight people think that there may come a time when paedophilia is acceptable as homosexuality is now.

They point to a time when homosexuality was illegal (as child sexual abuse is now), and posit that as attitudes to homosexuality have relaxed, so might attitudes to child abuse.

This is comprehensively idiotic.

It keeps getting trotted out, and it makes no sense whatsoever.

You may as well ask "Will we see at time when rape is legalised?"

No we won't.

Please, can we stop dragging paedophilia into discussions about gay people.

I disagree.

In instances like this, my personal reaction is just that - a reaction. It is not considered, pondered on, and then put in place - it is an instant reaction, and I think that applies to being outraged as well.

I believe I did debate retrocop's views in an adult fashion - I very rarely walk away from any debate.
