It is mainly the residents of such areas that make them look like deprived areas by British standards, it is their culture."
On previous threads you have howled from the rooftops because you perceive accusations of casual racism - and then you make statements like your last paragraph in this post.
Do you really wonder why people take the view of your attitudes to race that they do, when you can randomly condemn entire swathes of the population by saying that making the area in which they live 'deprived' is 'part of their culture?'
That statement is as broad in its lack of fact as it is in the willingness to lump entire sections of society as being some sort of lower order.

The reason why that statement is particularly curious is because it suggests that deprived areas which are 'culturally British' have standards of cleanliness unseen in immigrant areas.
This is not AOG's fault.
He hasn't been to some of the places I've been to in Leeds, Northern Ireland and (especially) outside Glasgow, which are...bloody horrible.
Because some people see the world through 'a certain prism', it makes it impossible for them to entertain the notion that every economically deprived area pretty much looks the same.
Perhaps he needs to watch one of Channel Five's many shows on Britain's benefits system to open his eyes.
Or...take a trip to the horror show called Hastings.

I said deprived by British standards.
It is not Racist when one makes a valid observation.
If you have walked down any main street in African or Asian countries you would know what I mean.
I could take you to some areas of the UK, where these type of scenes are not far off from these.

/// Mohammed lived on the sprawling Aylesbury Estate, a deprived area plagued by crime including drug dealing and robbery. ///
This was particularly about a prominent black area, there was no racist intent, as both you and the usual suspect cares to make it one.
/// Similarly, when you talk as if you have the finger on the pulse of young black men, it comes across as ignorant. ///
I do not profess to having a finger on the pulse of young black men, as you falsely accuse me of having, but knowing that this lad was more than likely stabbed by an opposing black gang, also the fact that there is a growing problem of black on black knife crime and gun crime also involving drug dealing, one does not need to have.
It is broadcast on a regular basis.

/// Are dodgy areas defined by the economics of the area (number of people in work, number of home owners) or are dodgy areas defined by ethnicity of the local population? ///
Both it would seem, but in this instance it is the sprawling Aylesbury Estate, a deprived area plagued by crime including drug dealing and robbery, that is in question.

I have to admire the consistency of your views, but again, you cannot complain of being seen to hold racist views if you insist on placing comments like that on the AB.

Yes, I think sentences for carrying knives should be longer. It's currently a maximum of four years, I think? But as the boy's mother says, there is no reason for anyone to be carrying a knife and the only reason someone would be carrying one is to harm someone else, so yes, I reckon the punishment for this should be more severe.
