In the conversational and layman's use of the term - absolutely, but in medical and criminal terms, it's something entirely different, which requires expert analysis and input - which we have had, but which bazwillrun seems less that impressed by.

TTT - Mental illness is very subjective anyway. What does that phrase mean exactly? I am often accused of mental illness because I'm not an EU fan. //
On that basis - all medical diagnosis is 'subjective'.
Obviously it depends on interpretation, but I am sure that years of research and experience leads to some indicators and behavioural patterns that can be common to certain conditions - mental or physical.
