The Syrians now have the launch codes for their S-300's in Damascus and Russia has deployed its S-400 missiles in Latakia and have now equipped their Su-34 planes with air-to-air missiles: the Americans had already sent 6 F-16 equipped with air-to-air missiles, and 300 airmen to Turkey's Incirlik airbase in August this year as part of Operation Inherent Resolve against ISIS. (ISIS has no air force )
So basically Russia/Syria could now impose their own missile-enforced no-fly zone but that had to be disrupted by US/NATO.
If that does not derail/escalate this complex situation Gromit, do you really think Operation Inherent Resolve and its cohorts would permit Syria/Russia to destroy its '70,000 moderates ?

@ Mikey.....just under a third of Labour MPs voted for war and the shadow foreign secretary failed to support his party leader publicly.
I'm not sure how that can't be construed as a bit of a disaster for the Labour party.
And I'm still very put out about the Mugabe issue.

You do seem to be fond of this term "hand-wringing" don't you. I know it's a pejorative, but surely the act of "hand-wringing" is actually a sign of empathy and compassion, something that perhaps you lack.
