I wonder how many of our 'OWN' have never been given a chance to enjoy such things?

There must be many who have never even seen their own seasides.

I sometimes think AOG has a special pair of 'twisted view of the world' spectacles which allows him to see connections which aren't really there and conclusions which escape the rest of us. That's my only explanation for his views and opinions. (Well, I do have another but I can't really say).
I try hard to grasp the problem , and often fail - never mind.

As my Mother would have said 'He'll have a new bee buzzing in his bonnet the morrow'
Mamyalynne, I love that phrase. I must remember it.
Has a chime to it.
aog, //But I thought that we had only taken in refugees from Syria.//

Had you read the link you posted you would have noticed this.

//We can reveal dozens of immigrants have been treated to freebies since 2009//

See the date? 2009. This organisation has been operating for six years - long before the Syrian refugee crisis began.
Some people would be on their high horses complaining about charity money spent on 'our own' disadvantaged youths being treated to days out, especially if their parents were 'on the dole' with criminal records (or drank, smoked or had a huge tv)

I can almost hear them - what about the kids of hard working parents on minimum wage that can't afford day trips to the seaside?
All you people who envy these new comers should ask themselves - is a trip to a fun park worth all the heartache they have gone through to get to UK?
It's the same as being envious of a disabled person because they have a blue badge, lyn
I think getting to the UK is, for them, well worth all the heartache they've gone through.

/// Asylum seekers and immigrants were obviously mentioned but not nationality. ///

I took it for granted that the refugees we have recently welcomed into this country were Syrian.

A read of the Charity website makes it clearer, easy mistake to make.

That is prime coming from the likes of you.

I am regular accused of saying things that I never have, they being just the twisted infantile mind set of some calculating ABers set on a constant "let's attack AOG, it such great fun" campaign.
Yes, AOG, we have recently taken in Syrian refugees, but the link you provided states:

"According to its accounts, the charity spent £98,810 on outings and events over the past six years."

Obviously very little, if any, of this money has been spent on the Syrians who have just arrived.

And nobody said they hadn't, I do not know of the 'freebies' dished out at that particular time, or even who those refugees were, or where they came from.

But this article is about the present batch of refugees and what 'freebies' they are at present enjoying, so put away your history book and please stick to the thread up for discussion.
aog, I am sticking to the thread under discussion. I'm discussing the link you provided.
I think the point you make is clear , when doing a Lottery or contributing to something then check your money only goes to charities you wish to support and not those you don't.
As am I. The link in your opening post.
