Their choice, they could have settled in the first safe country that they came to, why do you think they chose to come to a the UK, a country in the Northern hemisphere, with an alien religion and culture to their own?

The V sign you refer to is only used as an insult in a few countries - UK, Australia, RoI and NZ.

I am missing that retro, the 5th picture down is at the British Museum and I can't see any finger signs, do you have to zoom in on the picture?

Well It appears their integration is working and they have learnt the Anglo Saxon Archer's sign from Agincourt very quickly.
Perhaps they are demonstrating what they saw in the History Museum. That will be it. :-)

Ah got it retro, but I had to use a magnify glass, it must be the colour density of my screen.

i apologise for having to bring colour into it, there that saves the usual suspects from clambering to get in the first racist accusation.
