There is a time and place for everything, why do the gay community find the need to flaunt their sexuality at every opportunity?

/// Dahlia....straight people have been proposing in public for years and years. ///
/// I fail to see why gay people, now that they can get married, can't do the same. ///
When will it finely sink into you mikey.
This is no disgust regarding two gay people proposing to each other in public.
This is all about a gay policeman breaking ranks to propose to his partner.
Why didn't he wait until the parade was over? Not only a deserter from the ranks but also an opportunistic exhibitionist.

/// its in the DM for one reason only and its because the chap was gay. ///
Other news sources are available, and are they also only reporting because the chap or in the case of the Pink News and the Huffingtonpost, 'CHAPS', are gay?

/// If you hadn't reported the outrage that you and the DM felt, none of us would be discussing this issue this morning. ///
I don't seem to be half as outraged as you seem to be, and once again please get it right where in the Daily Mail do they say they are 'OUTRAGED'?
/// If you insist on playing with fire, you shouldn't be at all surprised when you get your fingers burnt. ///
Perhaps you would care to convey that little piece of wisdom to those policeman also.
Perhaps then they would not have had their actions plastered all over the media for others to discuss on a news site?
And isn't that the primary intention of such a site, to debate a particular news event, or are only certain sensitive subjects not allowed to be debated?

In answer to AOG's second OP question...I think that this year, in particular the Pride marches all over the world are important, because it shows that we can thumb our noses at those who wish us harm or harbour ill-intent.
With regards to the copper breaking rank...if this were a Remembrance Day march, I would agree with you AOG.
If this were at a funeral for another service officer, I would agree also.
But the Pride march is all about celebration, and as you can see from those who witnessed it, it brought joy and celebration.
This was a marriage proposal. It was something good for heaven's sake.

/// "Why are some canned drinks so full of sugar" and then posting a link about a story about Coca-Cola...and then saying, "But I didn't mention Coca-Cola." ///
That would be because I was using a story about Coca-Cola, to start a thread about the amount of sugar in canned drinks, but at the same time not naming the brand Coca-Cola in any way.
Good try but not good enough.

That's exactly what you're doing.
You asked:
"why do the gay community find the need to flaunt their sexuality at every opportunity?"
And then you posted a link to a story about a marriage proposal at the Pride March.
So if the question has nothing to do with Pride, what were you referring to when you asked that?
Are you saying that gay people should propose marriage in private?
That's exactly what you're doing.

Yes I agree gays were treated in a deployable manner, but like African slavery that is all in the past and we should now move on and forget the past (as some are forever telling us)
There is no need for this outward show of exhibitionism in public.
/// Anyway, its just a bit of fun to liven up our drab little lives ! ///
You may lead a drab little life, but please don't speak for others.
