He did upset a few on all sides. If some of those Second Amendment people, I don't know ...
There are a lot of angry people out there. It only takes one to settle a score. Whether he meant half and a quarter of his most controversial remarks, he said them and some folk won't ever forget.

Orderlimit at 19.22. 'France next?' France is tricky, with its 2-round system of voting. I remember that in our Commune, when one unpopular person went through to the 2nd round with a chance of becoming maire, sick & elderly folk were literally dragged out to vote in order to defeat him. So it is in a national election. I fully expect Martine Le Pen to either win or challenge very strongly in round 1. Sarkozy is currently positioning himself to be an acceptable alternative to her in Round 2, but he has an uphill battle to overcome the unpopularity he generated in he past. It will be interesting. Meanwhile there are votes to come in Italy and Austria. We live in interesting times.
